A tragic head-on collision in Dartmouth, Massachusetts claimed the lives of a Westport couple, Jeffrey and Diane Moniz (both 76), on Sunday morning.
The accident occurred around 10:30 a.m. near 422 Old Westport Rd. According to police, the other driver, 63-year-old Philip Morris, crossed a double yellow line, resulting in a direct collision with the Moniz's vehicle.
Philip Morris was arrested at the scene and charged with two counts of motor vehicle homicide by negligent operation. The police investigation into the crash is ongoing.
The Moniz couple were transported to a local hospital, where they were pronounced dead.
A couple from Westport were killed in a crash in Dartmouth on Sunday morning when another driver crossed into their lane and struck their vehicle head-on, officials said.

Police arrested the other driver, 63-year-old Philip Morris, at the scene, according to the statement. Morris is charged with two counts of motor vehicle homicide by negligent operation.
Police said the crash took place around 10:30 a.m. near 422 Old Westport Rd., when Morris crossed a double yellow line on the roadway and struck Moniz’ car.
Police continue to investigate the crash.
