Apple Park Design Flaw

Apple's new $5 billion headquarters, Apple Park, features extensive use of ultra-transparent glass, leading to a safety issue. At least three employees suffered injuries within the first month due to collisions with glass walls and doors.

Warnings Ignored

Despite prior warnings from a building inspector about the difficulty of distinguishing between walls and doors, the issue persisted. The design prioritised aesthetics over safety.

Employee Injuries and Solutions

Employees initially used sticky notes as temporary markers to indicate the location of doors but Apple removed these, citing design concerns. Apple has since resorted to less noticeable rectangular stickers on some glass surfaces.

Company Response

Apple's vice president of real estate acknowledged the problem, indicating ongoing efforts to address the issue. However, a request for comment from Apple remained unanswered.
