Student Death

The South Williamsport Area School District Superintendent, Dr. Eric Briggs, addressed the recent death of a 10-year-old third-grader, Kashaica Claue Schreffler-Algofera, who had been swept away by the Susquehanna River. The superintendent expressed condolences to the family and community and highlighted support services provided to students and staff.

Board Approvals

The school board approved several key items:

  • A Lycoming-Clinton HealthChoices Pilot School-Based Intensive Behavioral Health Services Program Reinvestment Plan, designed to improve access and continuity of care for students.
  • A plan to provide two days of AI training to sixth through 12th grade staff through the BlaST Division of Educational Proposal.
  • The list of graduating seniors.

The next board meeting will provide a budget update, with approval expected at their second June meeting.
