Peek-a-Brew Play Cafe: A Family-Friendly Bistro

Sisters Maria Rapp and Kiki Anderson are launching Peek-a-Brew, a modern play cafe in Old Saybrook, Connecticut, opening May 8th. This 7,000-square-foot establishment features a bistro-style cafe alongside play areas for children up to 6 years old (one specifically for children under 2).

Entrepreneurial Background

Both sisters left established careers to pursue this venture. Rapp, a former labor and employment attorney, and Anderson, who worked in government intelligence, were inspired by their large Greek family and their mother's successful restaurant, Mirsina's.

Family Focus and Community Involvement

The cafe aims to create a space for both parents and children to socialize. Planned events include mommy and me yoga, craft nights, and cupcake decorating. Peek-a-Brew also intends to collaborate with local businesses to offer food items.

Business Model and Operating Hours

Peek-a-Brew will serve coffee, espresso, lattes, mocktails, and light bites such as croissants, muffins, salads, and paninis. Daily hours are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. (Monday-Saturday) and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. (Sunday).
