Amazon is developing humanoid robots for last-mile delivery, utilizing artificial intelligence (AI) to navigate and complete deliveries. Initial tests are taking place in a covered track at an Amazon facility in San Francisco.
The company is currently testing the Digit robots from Agility Robotics and will soon test robots from the Chinese company Unitree. The AI software is developed in-house, but the company is using hardware from external providers for now.
Amazon aims to reach 100,000 electric vehicles by 2030 and is also working on autonomous delivery cars through its subsidiary Zoox.
This initiative aligns with similar efforts by other tech giants like Nvidia, Google, and Tesla, driven by advancements in AI technology.
