The Diputación de Málaga has approved a €4 million budget increase for the renovation of La Rosaleda stadium, bringing the total available funds to €18 million. This is in addition to €10 million from the Junta de AndalucÃa and €4 million from Málaga City Council.
While the main interior works won't begin until 2026 due to administrative processes, preparatory work, including site surveys, will commence in 2025. The renovation aims to increase the stadium's capacity to 45,000 and improve the surrounding area.
The project is a collaborative effort between the Diputación de Málaga, the Junta de AndalucÃa, and Málaga City Council. Each entity has contributed significantly to the funding, demonstrating a commitment to hosting matches during the 2030 World Cup.
