Hurb, formerly Hotel Urbano, a Brazilian digital travel agency, had its website suspended by court order following the cancellation of its Cadastur registration by the Ministry of Tourism. This occurred after numerous consumer complaints and allegations of breach of contract.
The Ministry of Tourism's decision, published on April 14th in the Diário Oficial da União, prevents Hurb from operating in the tourism sector. The company has 10 days to appeal. Additionally, the National Consumer Secretariat (Senacon) halted negotiations and ordered the suspension of flexible package sales, with a daily fine of R$ 80,000 for non-compliance.
Hurb's official Instagram profile has posted cryptic messages since the measures were announced last week, and comments are disabled.
