Key Project Details

Polymatech Electronics is establishing India's first Gallium Nitride (GaN)-based semiconductor manufacturing plant in Nava Raipur, Chhattisgarh. The plant, with an initial investment of Rs 1,143 crore, aims to produce 10 billion chips annually by 2030. It will manufacture advanced 5-nanometer and 3-nanometer chips.

Economic Impact

The project is expected to create thousands of direct and millions of indirect jobs. It will significantly impact Naxal-affected areas like Bastar through technical training opportunities. Polymatech plans to invest an additional Rs 10,000 crore in Chhattisgarh.

Technological Significance

GaN chips are faster, more energy-efficient, and durable, crucial for 5G/6G networks, high-performance computing, and defense technologies. This venture reduces India's reliance on imported chips and strengthens its position in the global semiconductor market.

Government Support

The Chhattisgarh government facilitated the project's speedy approval and land allocation, highlighting its proactive industrial policies. The investment proposal was signed during the 'Chhattisgarh Investor Connect' in December 2024.

Strategic Location

Chhattisgarh's supportive policies, infrastructure, and Nava Raipur's status as an industrial hub influenced the location choice for this significant investment.
