A new audiovisual hub has been inaugurated in Murcia, Spain, establishing it as a key center for the national audiovisual industry alongside Madrid, Barcelona, La Coruña, and Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
The hub, located in the Artillery Barracks, boasts advanced equipment including recording studios, editing suites, motion capture technology, immersive simulators, and a 3D printing area. A total of €5.6 million from NextGenerationEU funds were invested in its creation.
The hub aims to support both professional and amateur producers, providing resources for the entire content creation process, from pre-production to distribution. It also offers equipment loans.
The initiative is expected to boost employment in the sector, with a reported 107% increase since 2020 due to similar hubs across Spain. The hub's creation is seen as a significant step forward for the region's audiovisual and cultural industries.
The hub is already operational and has reportedly hosted productions that have won international awards.
