UEFA Payout to Scottish Clubs

Scottish football clubs received a share of a record-breaking €233 million (£191 million) payout from the European Club Association (ECA)'s Club Benefits Programme. This program compensates clubs for the release of players between 2020 and 2024 for various UEFA competitions.

Distribution of Funds

The funds were distributed among clubs across Europe, with nearly £2.4 million allocated to Scottish clubs. The breakdown for the Scottish recipients is as follows:

  • Dundee United: £75,303
  • St Johnstone: £37,650
  • Dundee: £12,550
  • Dunfermline Athletic: £6,275

Celtic received the largest share among Scottish clubs, with a payout of £1.1 million.

Significance

This payout represents a significant increase from the previous cycle (2016-2020), which totalled £172 million. Dunfermline Athletic's inclusion is notable, as they are one of only two non-top-flight clubs to receive funds.
