Death of Miller Gardner

The death of 14-year-old Miller Gardner, son of former New York Yankees player Brett Gardner, is under investigation in Costa Rica. Initial reports suggested asphyxiation due to food poisoning, but asphyxiation has been ruled out by forensic medicine. The family had experienced stomach discomfort after a dinner at a hotel, and Miller was found dead in his room the following morning.

Investigation

The Judicial Investigation Police (OIJ) are now investigating, reviewing security footage, interviewing hotel staff, and awaiting toxicology results to determine if food poisoning was the cause of death. The family, who left Costa Rica on Saturday, will be interviewed virtually.

Family Statement

Brett and Jessica Gardner released a statement expressing their grief, describing Miller as a beloved son and brother who enjoyed various activities and lived life to the fullest.
