Giovanna Moeller, a 24-year-old Brazilian programmer, developed an AI-powered educational platform called Edu.AI for the Enem exam in just two days. This achievement won her the Agent Development Kit Hackathon, a global competition sponsored by Google.
Edu.AI utilizes eight distinct AI agents to offer personalized learning experiences. These agents provide features such as essay correction, customized simulations, supportive content generation, and tailored study plans, all designed to improve access to quality education, particularly for students lacking access to tutoring or expensive preparatory courses.
The platform is currently in testing but is already accessible online. Its primary goal is to democratize access to high-quality educational preparation in Brazil, addressing educational inequality.
Giovanna faced technical challenges during development, including integrating modules, automatically correcting image-based essays, and connecting the website interface to cloud tools. Despite these hurdles, she delivered a functional, user-friendly platform.
Her victory is particularly significant given the underrepresentation of women in technology. Giovanna hopes to inspire other young women to pursue careers in STEM fields, emphasizing that technology is a space for everyone.
