According to the haters, the mum of two looks this good because of cosmetic surgery, because of private chefs, because of personal trainers, because of photo-shopping, because of starving herself. The list goes on…

“Must be nice to be able to spend all that time and money on your body… We could all look like that if we had access to her cash and lifestyle. Sadly most of us in the real world have to do actual work,” chelped one.

“I’m sorry but she’s not the least bit attractive. Way too much plastic surgery,” slammed another, and, “she still looks manly.”

I’d bet the majority of women slating Khloe are fat and lazy - I’d even put my mortgage on it.

They’re the sort who will find any excuse they can find to avoid the obvious fact: staying slim and healthy is hard work. Trust me, it takes serious discipline and self-denial (and sweating in the gym, and eating salad when you’d prefer cake) to get in shape and stay in shape. 

In my 20s and in the thick of anorexia I thought restricting food was the only way I could get the body I wanted but now, fully recovered, I work hard at maintaining my size six figure in a healthy way and I am sure Khloe does too.

Help and support for eating disorders

I know exactly where the backlash comes from, and it’s not pretty. These women (and overwhelmingly the social media trolls are women) are complacent, critical, and contemptuous of others, without even the self-awareness to understand their own animosity.

It comes from self-hatred and a lack of honesty. They’re eaten up with insecurity and consumed with envy for a woman who has two children, an estimated fortune of $60 million, and a stunning bikini body at the age of 40. The hate they direct towards Khloe is actually the hatred they feel for themselves. 

It’s the exact same crew who slammed actress Michelle Keegan. 37, for ‘pinging back into shape’ after the recent birth of her daughter Palma. The same lot who attacked model Gisele Bundchen, 44, for her washboard flat abs only weeks after the birth of her third baby, or who slated Sienna Miller, 43, for her fabulous post-pregnancy body. 

The plus size, body positive movement are vocal about their own ‘body positivity’, often aggressive demeaning towards slimmer, fitter women. They shout about being ‘real women’ with ‘proper curves’ but underneath their personal insecurity is off the charts.

I know the truth behind their comments because I’ve experienced it for years. I’ve had ‘larger’ women tell me I’m ‘lucky’ to be ‘naturally slim’, as they help themselves to yet another helping of creamy spaghetti carbonara (with garlic bread on the side). 

Only yesterday I sat in the park with an ex-work colleague, who is very fat and very fun, but totally lacking in self-awareness. 

As she tucked into a Greggs sausage roll and a family ‘grab bag’ of cheese and onion crisps, she told me I was lucky to have ‘such a fast metabolism’, oblivious to the fact that I was swigging a diet coke and chomping down an apple before jumping back on my bike to do the school run, via the supermarket shop and the radio studio.

She’s not a hater but she’s in denial, not only about the thousands of excessive calories she’s consuming every day, but also about her dire lack of physical activity. 

You simply can’t have your Greggs and eat it.

Surely we all know the truth by now? Calories in, versus calories out. Or to put it another way: eat less, move more, stay slim. Eat too much, sit on your backside, get fat.

Far easier to veg out on the sofa with a takeaway, a bottle of wine and the latest Netflix than haul on your trainers and run around the park.

These insecure women dress it up in a million ways: they’re ‘big-boned’, it runs in the family, it’s their medication, it’s their genetics, it’s the pregnancy flab since their last baby, or they gave up smoking/drinking so they gained weight, a million and one complicated reasons why they got fat.

Khloe is trained by Coach Joe on a regular basis.

He told Poosh: "No matter what time Khloé and I are working out, she’s always at the gym 30 minutes before to stretch and warm up, that way we really have a full hour of exercising together."

MONDAY

Set one: 1-min jumping rope, 30-sec plank (repeat 5 times, 30-sec rest)

Set two: 30-sec holding squat, 10 squats (repeat 5 times, 30-sec rest)

Khloé uses one day of the week to do Pilates or basic cardio by herself.

THURSDAY

Set one: 30-sec high kee jumps, 30-sec lateral & front raise jumps (repeat 4 times, 30-sec rest)

Set two: 15 push-ups, 30-sec shoulder tap plank (repeat 4 times, 30-sec rest) 

Set three: 10 kneel-to-squat (repeat 4 times, 30-sec rest) 

Set four: 30-sec side planks, 30-secs alternate bicycle crunches (repeat 4 times, 30-sec rest)

FRIDAY

Set one: 10 inchworm push-ups, 30-sec jumping jacks (repeat 4 times, 30-sec rest) 

Set two: 10 alternate split squat jumps, 15-sec split squats with hold (repeat 4 times, 30-sec rest) 

Set three: 30-sec crossed mountain climbers, 30-sec back extensions (repeat 4 times, 30-sec rest) 

Set four: 10 burpees

It’s not complicated at all, and these excuses are all nonsense. There may be some rare instances of genetic syndromes of specific medication causing obesity but as any doctor will tell you, the vast majority of overweight individuals are simply eating too much.

The way we choose to live, what we stuff in our mouths, whether we’re gym bunnies or couch potatoes, whether we diet or gain weight or let ourselves go, or whether we work hard to look great into our 40s, or just comfort eat and embrace the flab – it’s no-one else’s business! If slim women don’t criticise you, why criticise them?

I don’t care what size anyone is: if they’re happy in themselves, that’s fine. But it’s cruel to attack someone simply for looking and feeling phenomenal in her own skin.

Why not celebrate a natural healthy body or better still, why not aspire to getting one for yourself?
