A car accident occurred near Dundee Airport on Riverside Drive, resulting in a woman being transported to the hospital with minor injuries. The incident took place shortly after 7 a.m. on Monday.
Emergency services responded to the scene, where a car had crashed into traffic lights near the Dundee University playing fields. The car sustained significant front-end damage, requiring it to be taped off due to exposed wiring.
The traffic lights were severely damaged and lay in pieces on the ground. Despite the crash, the road remained open to traffic in both directions after a brief period of blockage.
James Simpson, a reporter for The Courier, was present at the scene. He noted that the car's front end was extensively damaged and the exposed wiring necessitated the use of tape to secure the vehicle.

It is understood the female driver of the car suffered minor injuries.
The Courier’s reporter James Simpson, who attended the scene, said: “The crash was at the crossing beside the Dundee University playing fields.
“The front end of the car is badly damaged and it has been taped off in the central reservation due to exposed wiring linked to the crossing.
“The traffic lights have been destroyed and are in several pieces on the ground.
“The road is running in both directions.”
