A Williamsport man has been identified as the motorist who led state police on a pursuit Saturday evening that covered parts of two counties.

Jordan J. Lantz, 36, led state police on a high speed pursuit from southbound Route 15 near Joe Road in White Deer Township in Union County about 8:10 p.m. to westbound on Interstate 80, ending in Greene Township, Clinton County, police said, according to Pennlive.com.

A trooper clocked him on radar driving a Ford pickup truck doing 83 miles per hour in a 55 mph zone, according to Pennlive. On I-80 he was traveling in excess of 100 mph, police said.

After Lantz’ truck was disabled, police used deadly force options resulting in the driver being shot in the leg and taken to Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, police said.

Lantz is charged with aggravated assault by vehicle, fleeing an officer, driving at an unsafe speed, driving while license suspended, reckless endangerment, and reckless and careless driving. Police told the media source his license was suspended due to a driving under the influence conviction.
