A helicopter crashed into the Hudson River near Jersey City, New Jersey, around 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. The incident resulted in at least one confirmed death.
At least two people were pulled from the water, but their conditions remain unclear. The relationship between the deceased and those rescued is not yet confirmed. The exact number of people aboard the helicopter is unknown.
Emergency responders gathered on both sides of the river, with the NYPD mobilizing in Manhattan. Social media videos showed flotation devices deployed on the helicopter's landing gear before it submerged.
The cause of the crash is currently under investigation.
