As I've written in VIP posts before, I'm not Catholic β€” I'm Catholic adjacent. You're much better getting any analysis on the Catholic religion from our own Amy Curtis. But my wife converted to Catholicism after her brother converted to Catholicism when he married a Catholic. My sister converted to Catholicism when she married a Catholic. I sent my kids to Catholic schools.

I'd never heard of Morgan Ariel, but she says in her X bio that she's a Christian cultural commentator, lioness for Jesus Christ, and a fashion designer and CEO of ONE GOD, which designs "ethical Christian fashion."

Ariel recently attended a Catholic service and found it "ritualistic."

I just left a Catholic service where they chanted the Lords Prayer and Hail Mary repetitively well over 20x each.

It was so unsettling and ritualistic.

Shocker: She says in the replies she's not a Catholic and never has been.

This reminds us of the time when New York Times editorial board member Mara Gay drove out to Long Island, where she found it "disturbing" how many American flags she saw.

I checked Google to see how many beads there are on a Rosary and got this:

How Many Beads Are on a Set of Rosary Beads? Today, Roman Catholics use a rosary made up of 59 beads. The 6 large beads are used for praying the Our Father prayer, and the 53 smaller beads are used for praying the Hail Mary prayer.

Imagine saying the Hail Mary 53 times … well over 20 times. How … unsettling and ritualistic.

Someone just discovered the rosary. https://t.co/tdhk1cBR6G

This is called the rosary. And it’s not a service. It is a prayer that Catholics do together.

Unintentional comedy is a favorite genre of mine

Must have been a recitation of the Rosary. That's not said at Mass, though it can occur before or after. It's lovely.

Congratulations, you just attended a scheduled Rosary. Hopefully you'll actually attend a regular Sunday Mass next time.

Oh no they said words from the Bible over and over again

β€” Patrick Neve (@catholicpat) May 7, 2025

You were probably hearing the Rosary. It might seem "ritualistic" if you don't know that it's a meditative prayer focused on key mysterious events in the life of our Lord and Mary.

Yeah, it's weird if you're used to laser light shows and electric guitars.

β€” Based_Taiks (@Christo20327729) May 6, 2025

My wife's widowed step-mother and her family are all Evangelicals and go to one of those hippy churches with the guitars, and she thinks Catholicism is a cult. I think it's beautiful … way better than the laser light show.

Those fog machines and drum solos though. So dope

As long as you feel good when you leave right? 🀣🀑

I'll let you find Ariel's Christian fashion designs on your own. I find them unsettling.
