A shooting incident in the early hours of Thursday morning in Anderlecht, a municipality of Brussels, Belgium, resulted in two injuries. One victim suffered a shoulder wound and is in critical condition, while the other sustained a leg injury.
Following the shooting, two individuals were apprehended in connection with the incident. Anderlecht's mayor, Fabrice Cumps, confirmed the arrests, attributing them in part to the presence of a federal police unit in the neighborhood at the time of the shooting.
Despite the arrests, Mayor Cumps expressed concern that violence in Anderlecht persists. He plans to request an extension of federal police assistance from the Minister of the Interior, Bernard Quintin, to address the ongoing issue.
The shooting occurred near Rue de la Clinique, close to Clemenceau, an area that experienced a series of shootings earlier in the year.

However, according to Cumps, violence in the municipality has not yet subsided and the assistance of the federal police remains important. Cumps will ask Minister of the Interior Bernard Quintin (MR) to extend federal police assistance in Anderlecht.
