Jeffrey William Cartwright, 42, of 319 Winter St., DuBoistown, has been charged with resisting arrest for “refusing lawful commands to surrender” when South Williamsport police arrived at his house on the night of April 5 to take him into custody at his home on a warrant charging him with violating a protection from abuse order filed by Lock Haven police.
“He held a knife against his chest and refused to exit his bedroom, forcing an officer to deploy less than lethal counter measurers (firing a single foam round from a launcher that struck Cartwright in the thumb) to take him into custody,” it was alleged in a court document.
He has since waived his preliminary hearing before District Judge William Solomon and is free on $5,000 bail.
