A man killed in a motorcycle crash in Bristol last week has been identified as a 19-year-old man who had a child on the way.

Kevin J. Cruz-Strain of Bristol died following a collision on Friday shortly after midnight in the area near the McDonald’s at 646 Farmington Ave., according to Lt. Patrick Krajewski of the Bristol Police Department.

Krajewski said police believe Cruz-Strain was on a motorcycle headed east on Farmington Avenue when he was involved in a collision with an SUV driver who was exiting the parking lot of the fast food restaurant.

The teen was found unresponsive in the road and was tended to by police and medics before being transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead, according to Krajewski.

The driver of the SUV remained at the scene and was cooperative with police, according to Krajewski.

According to a GoFundMe started to cover the funeral costs, Cruz-Strain’s girlfriend, who was described as his best friend, was pregnant with his child when he was killed. He also left behind his mother and three siblings, the fundraiser said.

As of Monday morning, the GoFundMe had raised $5,565 of its $20,000 goal.

According to Krajewski, the crash remains under investigation by the police department’s Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team.
