In the original version of the telenovela, Rubinho tragically dies after mistakenly placing his luggage tag on a suitcase filled with money. After bidding farewell to Raquel and Maria de Fatima, Rubinho departs for New York. The mix-up leads to unforeseen circumstances resulting in his death.
The remake of the show retains the core narrative of Rubinho's unexpected death. However, some differences exist in the plot. In the new version, Rubinho accidentally receives an identical suitcase at the airport and the mix-up occurs. The plane en route to New York makes an unscheduled landing in Paraty due to Rubinho's sudden illness. Though he receives help and is transported to the hospital, he ultimately dies.

Assim como na primeira versão, Rubinho recebe ajuda por Cláudia, que está junto, e é encaminhado ao hospital, mas termina morrendo.
