The New York Mets have upgraded their facilities at Citi Field with a renovated family room and a new daycare center. These improvements were made during the off-season by the team's owners.
Mets player Ryne Stanek, a father of two young children, highlighted the positive impact of these changes. He emphasized the improvements to the family room and praised the daycare center, describing it as "amazing" and "like a children's museum." Stanek's positive experience influenced his decision to re-sign with the Mets.
The improvements are designed to provide a more comfortable and family-friendly environment for players and their families.
Ryne Stanek, along with his Mets teammates, received a tour before last week’s home opener of a key offseason initiative at Citi Field by the team’s owners.
A new family room and daycare center was unveiled, only reaffirming to the veteran reliever that he chose wisely in deciding to return to the Mets this season as a free agent.
Stanek, who has two children under the age of 4 with his wife, Jessica, appreciates the effort the organization put into the endeavor.
“The family room was pretty nice before, and [Alex] Cohen redid it and it looks amazing,” Stanek told Sports+ this week. “They did the daycare room, which looks like a children’s museum, it’s unbelievable. What they’ve done to take care of the kids is so nice, and my daughter absolutely loves going to daycare here because the people that work there are great and the facility itself is amazing and they do all the little things that you don’t have to worry about.”
