An MBTA commuter rail train in Cohasset collided with a pickup truck on Saturday morning, killing the 78-year-old driver.
The collision occurred on the Greenbush line near 15 Beachwood Street, police officials said. At 11:20 a.m., authorities responded to reports of a train striking a vehicle at a rail crossing.
Upon arrival, first responders found the driver suffering from severe injuries. Despite efforts from Cohasset Fire Department’s paramedics, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Transit Police Detectives, Cohasset police, and the Norfolk County District Attorney’s Office are actively investigating the incident.
