Hollywood's A-list darling Jennifer Aniston has undoubtedly built herself a life to be envied, with an estimated $320 million net worth, an impressive real estate portfolio and a handful of prestigious acting awards.

But it all nearly came crashing down Monday afternoon when an intruder drove through the gates of her $21 million compound in Bel-Air, one of the most notable ritzy suburbs of Los Angeles.

To make matters even more terrifying, Aniston was at home when the suspect was apprehended by her security team, though police say she did not come into contact with the suspect.

The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) later identified the intruder as 48-year-old Jimmy Wayne Carwyle.

He was reportedly held at gunpoint as her security team waited for the LAPD to arrive. Aniston's security are said to have dashed to the car after the crash, removing the intruder from his vehicle.

Police subsequently arrested Carwyle.

'On the 5th of May at approximately 12:20 p.m., West LA officers responded to a burglary at a property in Bel Air,' a spokesperson said, as police told CBS News Los Angeles the exact block the officers reported to.

Speaking exclusively to the Daily Mail, an inside source claimed Aniston, known for her roles in Friends and The Morning Show, is outraged by the LAPD's supposed lack of discernment in the wake of the terrifying ordeal.

The source said the intrusion has her hiring additional security, and she's even questioning whether she should abandon her 8,500 square-foot hilltop oasis altogether after the LAPD exposed her whereabouts.

'Jen is furious with the LAPD for releasing where she lives. Although you can Google her address, she can't believe the police revealed her block,' they said.

'Since the incident, she's had people flooding outside her house, hoping to get a glimpse of her. As one of the biggest celebrities in the world, she expected more protection from the police.'

Aniston 'would have been fine' if the LAPD had 'just said it was her house in Bel-Air,' the source continued. But to go into such detail she believes 'has put her at risk.'

A second source told the Daily Mail that she is 'extremely shaken up' by the whole ordeal and is even 'considering selling her property' because of the crash.

'This was her dream home, but everyone knows the address,' the second source added.

The 56-year-old actress purchased the mid-century modern style mansion in 2011 while in a relationship with actor Justin Theroux.

The abode – initially designed by A. Quincy Jones and completed in 1965 – features four bedrooms and six-and-a-half bathrooms with a wine cellar, pool and guesthouse. It boasts city and ocean views and sits on almost two acres of land.

A floor-to-ceiling sliding door in Aniston's bathroom allows the movie star to overlook her serene courtyard garden while soaking in her minimalist tub.

The enormous backyard features an outdoor cabana with a fireplace that's situated next to large lounge chairs and her pool with wood paneling.

The property is filled with lush greenery.

Although she maintains her privacy with tall wooden fencing, Aniston did give fans a glimpse of the Bel-Air estate during a 2018 photoshoot with Architectural Digest.

Throughout the last 14 years, Aniston's carefully curated home has provided a sense of comfort for the California native... and for her three beloved dogs Sophie, Clyde and Lord Chesterfield.

It was in the backyard of this sanctuary where she tied the knot with Theroux during an intimate ceremony surrounded by their closest family and friends.

Before their divorce in 2018, Aniston and Theroux collaborated with LA designers Jane Hallworth and Kathleen and Tommy Clements to redesign their beloved home.

The home has also seen her through tougher times, including when she mourned the loss of her former Friends co-star, Matthew Perry, in October 2023, and the passing of her father, soap opera legend John Aniston, just one year prior.

However, the entrepreneur is willing to sacrifice all of that if necessary.

'Jen is getting to the point in her life where the last thing she ever wants is to fear for her safety,' our second source said. 'It is filled with so many memories, but her safety is first and foremost.'

The LAPD is investigating Carwyle for stalking.

He was booked for felony vandalism in connection to the crash, police confirmed to the Daily Mail on Tuesday, but he has not been formally charged. Carwyle is currently being held in the LA County jail without bail.

Police told TMZ they are 'reviewing social media posts' under the suspect's name, as they already found a Facebook page 'with several bizarre and rambling posts' - including one that refers to Aniston as his 'bride.'

It is unknown at this time if that account is connected to Carwyle, or someone else with the same name.

The case is now in the hands of LAPD's Threat Management Unit, a department that has previously worked on cases involving Aniston.

The Daily Mail has contacted Aniston's representatives for comment, but has not heard back.
