Timothée Chalamet and Kylie Jenner's relationship is characterized by its unique approach to privacy. Chalamet, prioritizing his career, avoids public appearances with Jenner and maintains a low profile on social media. This strategy, adopted by Jenner as well, aims to protect their relationship and Chalamet's career trajectory, avoiding the pitfalls of being known solely for their high-profile romance.
Jenner actively shields Chalamet from the public eye, refraining from posting him on her widely followed social media accounts and instructing family members to do the same. This contrasts with Jenner's past relationships, where she openly shared details with her large audience. This significant change is driven by her love for Chalamet and her desire to make their relationship last. She realizes that limiting public exposure strengthens their connection.
Chalamet has successfully steered clear of reality TV, declining appearances on the Kardashian show. He views this as a career safeguard, aiming to achieve success based on his acting talents, not just his relationship. His decision underscores a strategic career path that separates his personal and professional life, preventing his image from being defined solely by his high-profile relationship.
In comparison, Jenner's previous relationships with Tyga and Travis Scott were documented extensively on social media. This stark contrast highlights a conscious effort by both Jenner and Chalamet to navigate their relationship with far greater privacy, demonstrating a mature and calculated strategy for their enduring romance.
Despite the overall strategy of keeping their relationship private, the couple occasionally appears at public events, sometimes engaging in public displays of affection (PDA). While Chalamet may be apprehensive about PDA at times, sources indicate the couple is genuinely happy and in love, despite maintaining a careful balance between their public image and their private lives.
On paper, they're the most unlikely couple.
She's a Barbie-like reality star whose every move is publicly documented. He's an artistic, Oscar-nominated actor known for taking on hard-hitting roles and keeping his private life, well, private.
So when Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet got together in 2023, many fans were shocked – and convinced they'd never last.
But two years later, and despite those vastly different backgrounds, the A-list lovebirds seem to be making a success of it, and it's all thanks to one important demand made by Chalamet, 29.
'Timothée made his intentions clear early [on] that he didn't ever want to be a prop,' an insider exclusively told the Daily Mail. 'That is why he doesn't want to be on the Kardashian's show and is only seen with Kylie at events.
'He wants to be one of the Hollywood greats and wants to avoid falling into the trap of being known simply for who he is dating. It would be gut wrenching. They both know that if he started appearing on the family show then they wouldn't work.'
An insider has told Daily Mail that Timothée Chalamet and Kylie Jenner have put boundaries in place to not only protect their relationship - but also the actor's career
'There is one major reason we don't see Kylie posting her relationship with Timothée, and that's because she wants to keep him around,' our source said (pictured at the 2025 Oscars)

It seems Jenner is taking his wish seriously. Since the couple met in January 2023, four seasons of the Kardashian family's long-running reality TV show have aired, but Chalamet has not appeared in a single episode.
There is another place you will never see him: his girlfriend's social media.
Keeping Chalamet off the grid has surely been no easy feat for Jenner, 27, who has amassed almost 400 million Instagram followers and shared with them every cough and splutter of her life - one selfie at a time.
From pregnancy announcements to promotional shoots for her make-up line, as a member of the Kardashian clan, she has been raised to successfully leverage even the most private of personal details.
But, so far, Chalamet has proved the exception to this rule: Jenner has not posted any content of the actor to her socials.
'We don't see Kylie posting her relationship with Timothée, and that's because she wants to keep him around,' our insider said. 'She loves him and they see a future together. So, if keeping him off her socials works, then she will continue to do so.'
In fact, it appears that Jenner has leaned on her family to help conceal any trace of Chalamet.
This time last year, sleuthing fans spotted Jenner's half-sister Kim Kardashian, 44, had even gone so far as to blur out Chalamet's name from an Easter table setting.
Discussing the relationship in interviews is also a no-go.
'Timothée made his intentions clear early doors that he didn't ever want to be a prop,' our insider said (pictured kissing at the 2025 Golden Globes)
Jenner, 27, dated rapper Tyga, 35, on and off for two years, with the pair making appearances on one another's socials, before officially calling it quits in April 2017
Jenner went on to date Travis Scott, with the pair posing up and getting candid about their relationship, divulging fights they had had during a shoot with GQ
Jenner appears to have issued a blanket ban on any questions about Chalamet, with the actor mentioned only in passing in major recent spreads in the Wall Street Journal and Vogue.
While she kept mum about the relationship in an October cover shoot for ELLE, she did hint at their joint battle for privacy.
'I think it's important to keep things to yourself,' she told the fashion magazine. 'It's hard for me to make a decision by myself sometimes, so the opinion of the whole world… it can be tough.'
Having grown up in a fish bowl with ogling eyes privy to all her family strife – including her parents' messy divorce shortly before her father Caitlyn Jenner's gender transition – keeping things private is a huge departure from what Jenner has considered the norm.
Chalamet also refuses to discuss their relationship.
Asked what it was like to have his 'partner in crime, Kylie' supporting him at the Palm Springs International Film Festival back in January, he refused to acknowledge her and instead addressed the support he gets from fans and peers.
'It's a great feeling to be in a room with so much love and so many great peers and people who are fantastic,' he said.
Keeping quiet seems a smart move for the pair considering Jenner's track record with unsuccessful relationships, which she's lived out in the public eye.
Sources previously told us Chalamet can be 'apprehensive at times' about PDA. This was evident when Jenner grabbed him for a kiss at the BNP Paribas Open tennis tournament back in March, but despite this, the Oscar nominee is 'so happy right now'
She dated rapper Tyga, 35, on and off for two years, with the pair making appearances on one another's socials, before officially calling it quits in April 2017.
That same year she started dating another rapper, Travis Scott, with whom she has two children, Stormi, 7, and Aire, 3.
In a 2018 joint GQ magazine spread, Jenner got candid about her relationship with Scott, even going so far as to divulge fights they'd had. The couple split for good in December 2022.
Chalamet and Jenner may be taking the 'silence is golden' route, but friends insist they are very much in love.
Since meeting and bonding over their 'goofy' personalities at Paris Fashion Week in January 2023, the pair have not been shy about engaging in PDAs at glitzy events such as this year's Oscars ceremony and Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival last month.
And although sources have previously told the Daily Mail that Chalamet can be 'apprehensive at times' about PDA, our insider insists the Oscar nominee is 'so happy right now.'
'He has the career he dreamed of and is madly in love,' our source said. 'He is not looking to mess that up himself either.'
