Mike Cannon-Brookes's Divorce

Atlassian CEO Mike Cannon-Brookes is going through a high-profile divorce from his wife Annie, with a potential $31 billion fortune at stake. The couple separated in July 2023 after 13 years of marriage and four children.

New Relationship

Paparazzi photos show Cannon-Brookes arriving in Sydney with a female companion named Amelia, who also works in the tech industry. Amelia is believed to have ties to the Southern Highlands, where Cannon-Brookes resides. The nature of their relationship is unclear.

Previous Rumors

Earlier rumors linked Cannon-Brookes to Phoebe Burgess, ex-wife of retired NRL star Sam Burgess. However, this turned out to be gossip originating from the fact that both send their children to the same school.

Financial Implications

The couple's substantial wealth includes a $100 million home in Point Piper and several other multi-million dollar properties. The details of how their assets will be divided during the divorce proceedings remain undisclosed.

Privacy Requests

A family representative has asked for the couple's privacy to be respected, stating that both are focused on their children.

For months, the Southern Highlands rumour mill has been spinning in earnest over the identity of the woman who has allegedly won the heart of Mike Cannon-Brookes.

The Atlassian CEO, 45, separated from his wife Annie last July after 13 years of marriage and the former couple - and their lawyers - now face the mammoth task of dividing up their enormous wealth and assets, which total an estimated $31billion.

It's not exactly a secret that Cannon-Brookes has been dating after his separation, with The Wall Street Journal (of all places) reporting in November he was seeing an unnamed 'civilian' he'd met in the Highlands. When we approached Atlassian at the time, they declined to comment on his new relationship.

Last month, we heard a red-hot rumour that 'civilian' was Phoebe Burgess, the ex-wife of retired NRL star Sam Burgess. A wild goose chase around Bowral followed before it emerged the gossip was just overzealous school mums hitting the WhatsApp groups after a few too many wines.

While we don't know for certain who the new lady in Cannon-Brookes' life is, paparazzi photos have emerged of the scruffy-chic tech mogul catching a private jet with a female companion who, on the surface, appears to tick all his boxes.

The billionaire was seen arriving at Sydney Airport on Saturday morning after flying in via private jet from San Francisco. But he didn't disembark solo.

Toting a large suitcase, Cannon-Brookes dressed casually for the flight in blue jeans, a brown jumper and black jacket. Amelia opted for a knit jumper, denim jacket and off-white pants

He followed several steps behind a young woman our sources say is named Amelia. She also works in tech and is believed to have ties to the Southern Highlands.

After leaving the jet, the pair was seen loading their luggage into a car before driving off together, with Amelia sitting in the front passenger seat.

Little is known about Amelia at this stage, and the nature of her relationship with Cannon-Brookes is unclear. A LinkedIn account under her name indicates she works for a small software firm.

The sighting follows reports Cannon-Brookes may have been romantically involved journalist/influencer Phoebe Burgess.

But the rumour, which was never denied by either party, looks to have been nothing more than idle gossip stemming from the fact they both send their children to the same private school in Moss Vale.

In the background of all this speculation is Cannon-Brookes' divorce from wife Annie, which could prove to be extraordinarily complex as they divide their enormous wealth and assets, which total an estimated $31billion.

Their separation was first revealed by the Australian Financial Review in July 2023.

'They're both focused on their children as their number one priority right now,' a family representative said at the time.

'They ask that their privacy is respected.'

The former couple, who tied the knot in January 2010 and share four children, were involved in a terrifying car accident just months before their split. Cannon-Brookes was hospitalised due to his injuries.

But they both made a full recovery and the crash was not related to their separation.

Annie was working as a fashion designer when she first met Cannon-Brookes in the Qantas lounge at Sydney Airport while travelling home to Michigan more than a decade ago.

He wooed her by inviting her to an awards ceremony and they soon became inseparable.

The pair's 1.1-hectare Fairwater home in the Sydney harbourside suburb of Point Piper, where the late Lady Mary Fairfax lived, was the most extravagant of their property purchases during their years together.

They snapped it up in 2018 despite its intimidating $100million price tag, which made it the most expensive house in Australia at the time.

They also owned a $14.25million home in Newport, on Sydney's northern beaches, neighbouring the $24.5million estate they purchased in 2020.

The couple also spent $2.55million on a fisherman's cottage out at Great Mackerel Beach on the northern beaches, which is accessible only by boat.

Though it is not known how they intend to divide their real estate empire after their split, Cannon-Brookes has snapped up an array of other lavish homes in recent months.

According to Domain, he bought three sprawling properties on the slopes of Mount Gibraltar at Mittagong for $12.25million.

He already owns the nearby Greyladyes Farm, which he snapped up for $13million, as well as a neighbouring property worth $9.1million.
