A significant fire incident occurred early Sunday morning in the Hawaiian Acres subdivision of Puna, Hawaii. Firefighters responded to a blaze at a two-story abandoned house located on Road 4 between Roads F and G at approximately 2:07 a.m.
Access to the house was hampered by a long driveway (approximately 300 feet) obstructed by abandoned vehicles. Overgrown brush further complicated firefighting efforts.
Eight units of the Hawaii Fire Department were deployed.
The cause of the fire remains undetermined.

According to a Hawaii Fire Department press release, eight units responded to the 2:07 a.m. report of the fire on Road 4 between Roads F and G.
The large house had a driveway about 300 feet long with abandoned vehicles partially blocking access to firefighters, according to the statement. Brush also was overgrown around the house, authorities said.
Hose lines were deployed and the fire was reported under control at 3:36 a.m. and extinguished at 6:04 a.m.
Property damage was estimated at $39,000. No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire remains undetermined.
