François Bayrou, a prominent French politician, faced accusations of knowing about and potentially covering up abuse at the Bétharram school in the 1990s.
Ten days after his testimony before a parliamentary committee investigating violence in schools, Bayrou published documents on his website aiming to refute these accusations. He described the accusations as ‘fallacious’.
The website in question, however, quickly became inaccessible, raising questions about its content and Bayrou's response to the allegations.
The accusations came from members of the LFI (France Insoumise) political party, who accused him of perjury during his testimony.
The details of the documents and the subsequent inaccessibility of the website remain points of focus in the ongoing investigation.
